No account. No server. Works right out of the box.
Emergency feeds, interactive map, peer-to-peer mesh networking, and live data — built for anyone who needs to stay informed.

🇨🇦 Developed and maintained in Canada. Canadian data feeds built in (511, Alert Ready, NRCAN). No ITAR restrictions.
iPhone iOS 17+ (iPhone X and newer) · iPad iPadOS 17+ · Apple Watch watchOS 10+ (Series 5+)
All three modes run simultaneously on the same device — use what's available.
Device-to-device CoT exchange without any server. Auto-discovery, multi-hop relay, team filter, and bridge mode — one connected device extends server to the entire mesh.
MIL-STD-2525 symbology, NATO affiliation filters, KML/KMZ overlays, offline tile caching, range rings, geofences, and bloodhound bearing lines.
511 road incidents (ON, QC, BC, AB), Alert Ready emergency alerts, NRCAN wildfires, earthquakes, hurricanes, and severe weather — free, no subscription needed. ADS-B aircraft, AIS vessel tracking, weather radar, and traffic cameras require a Live Data subscription.
Heart rate, SpO2, steps, and calories broadcast to your team. Chat, emergency beacon, compass, dead man's switch, and quick status — all from your wrist. Battery-friendly passive monitoring.
TLS 1.2+ for all connections. AES-GCM encrypted BLE mesh. Core Data and logs encrypted at rest. Keychain credentials use ThisDeviceOnly. Bridge only forwards onboarded peers.
Barometer, magnetometer, and activity recognition broadcast in CoT. Auto-switch between vehicle and dismounted type. Per-vital sharing controls.
Outbound RTMP streaming to all active TAK servers. Incoming RTSP video playback. Stream announcements visible to ATAK, WinTAK, and other TAK clients.
Thread-based inbox with group channels and DMs. Emergency beacon with push notifications. Chat and emergency work over mesh — no server required.
Export all CoT as JSON, TAK data package, KML tracks, CSV contacts, or chat log. Import CoT from JSON for offline device-to-device transfer via AirDrop.
TAK Can supports three simultaneous communication paths. Each device can use any combination depending on connectivity.

Devices find each other automatically via WiFi and Bluetooth. No manual pairing, no configuration. Just enable mesh and go.
Messages forward through intermediate devices with TTL-based loop prevention. Extend range beyond direct radio contact.
One device with internet bridges the entire mesh to the TAK server. Mesh-only devices see all server contacts. Only onboarded peers' data reaches the server.
Pre-shared key distributed via QR code. AES-GCM encryption on BLE mesh. HMAC-SHA256 authentication. Key rotation per mission.
TAK Can is designed for sensitive operations. Security isn't an afterthought — it's built into every communication path.
| Server connections | TLS 1.2+ with client certificate authentication |
| MultipeerConnectivity | DTLS encryption (Apple framework) |
| BLE mesh | AES-GCM encryption with pre-shared key |
| Data at rest | Core Data + log files encrypted via iOS file protection |
| Credentials | Keychain with ThisDeviceOnly — no iCloud sync |
| Mesh bridge | Only onboarded (server-authenticated) peers forwarded |
| BLE advertising | Generic name — callsign not exposed over the air |
External situational awareness data rendered as CoT markers on your map. Filtered by proximity to your location or active route.

Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia (DriveBC), and Alberta. Construction, closures, accidents, and weather hazards as CoT markers.
Canada's national emergency alert system. Amber alerts, severe weather, wildfires, evacuations, and earthquake early warning.
Canadian wildfire hotspots from Natural Resources Canada. Severity based on hectares and stage of control.
Live aircraft positions worldwide — follows your map view. Registration, type, operator, and origin/destination route for each flight. Heading projection and great-circle arc overlays.
Live ship positions worldwide via AISStream.io. Star any vessel to track it globally. Search by name or MMSI. Speed, heading, nav status, and destination for every ship.
Live precipitation tiles on the map. Three backends: ECCC GeoMet, RainViewer, and OpenWeatherMap. Rain, snow, satellite, wind, temperature, and pressure layers — no key required for ECCC and RainViewer.
Highway cameras from Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec 511 APIs. Tap any pin to view a still image or live video. Multi-angle cameras show a direction picker.
